This Toolbox section of our website is available to members and leaders of both women's and men's institutes of consecrated life and societies of apostolic life in the United States. It was made possible by a generous grant from the GHR Foundation.

RCRI members have access by virtue of your membership in RCRI. No additional password is needed.

LCWR, CMSWR, CMSM, UISG and Vicars for Religious who are not RCRI members should contact their respective organization for their password.

How to use this toolbox

The various tools available on this special section of the RCRI website are organized as individual tools and/or within "drawers" for tools that have multiple facets or parts.

The best thing to do initially is to navigate through the various links in the toolbox, which is reproduced at the bottom of most pages. You can also access the parts through the dropdown menu in the horizontal menu bar at the top of each page. The "Toolbox" link will drop down, and you can hover over those menu items to see if there are additional pop-out items that can save you time in navigating to a different page.

When you are ready to begin assessing your own religious institute's situation, we suggest starting with the assessment tools at the top left link of the toolbox image below.

Q & A Institute in Transition: Resources for the Journey

We are all aware that religious life as we know it and have lived it is in transition. Rather than a dramatic change, transitions usually manifest themselves gradually.  In seeking guidance, Institute leaders often ask “how do we begin” to plan for the future, to move toward transition. Over the past decade RCRI has developed resources to assist institutes in the process of transition, identifying the issues to be considered, and offering assistance along the way.  This Q & A is a resource to guide the process of transition. It is not a step-by-step procedure since each institute must identify its own path forward. It can, however, provide major considerations for discernment as a part of the transition process to historical completion and fulfillment of an institute’s mission.
